DeWitt Welcomes Two Very Skilled Family Law Attorneys to its Minneapolis Office
MADISON | MILWAUKEE | MINNEAPOLIS – DeWitt LLP announced today attorneys Kathleen M. Newman and Barbara J. Seibel, formerly of the Kathleen M. Newman Law Firm, joined DeWitt. The combination of their practices with DeWitt adds two additional, outstanding family law attorneys to DeWitt’s ranks and offers Newman and Seibel an expanded depth of legal resources to provide clients.
Newman has extensive experience in all aspects of marital dissolutions, including cases with high net worth, closely owned businesses, professional practices and complex custody matters and is well-versed in mediation and alternative dispute resolution. In 35 years of practice she has helped clients develop clients develop sophisticated and strategic solutions to preserve assets and maintain the marital standard of living.
Newman earned a J.D. from Mitchell Hamline School of Law and a B.A. from Hamline University. Newman is Board-Certified as a Family Law Trial Attorney by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. She is also a skilled mediator, approved for inclusion in the Minnesota ADR Statewide Neutrals Roster in all categories of Family Neutrals and is on the Minnesota Supreme Courts list of Appellate mediators. She is a Fellow with the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, , Hennepin County Bar Association - Family Law Section, Minnesota State Bar Association - Family Law Section and the American Bar Association.
Seibel focuses her practice on divorce, including division of marital and non-marital property, spousal maintenance and other matters related to divorce such as child custody and parenting time, child support and paternity issues. She also represents client in mediation and alternative dispute resolution. Seibel’s knowledge of the court system and the needs of families in transition allow her to work effectively and compassionately on behalf of her clients.
She earned a J.D. from Mitchell Hamline School of Law and a B.S. from Minnesota State University. Recently, she has presented several lectures at the Family Law Institute on the topics of family law, divorce, and child support. She is affiliated with the Minnesota State Bar Association, Hennepin County Bar Association, Family Law League and is a Volunteer Member of the Fourth District Ethics Committee.
About the Author
Michelle joined DeWitt in January 2011 as the Director of Marketing. She is responsible for the marketing, communication and business development efforts of the firm.
She has more than 19 years of experience in the legal marketing industry. Michelle is a proud veteran of the United States Army Military Intelligence Corps where she served four years on active duty as an Arabic Linguist, with an emphasis in Egyptian dialect.
