2020 was a year like no other - a year which some HR professionals have affectionately been calling “The Year of HR.” Between the pandemic, social unrest, keeping employees safe, and keeping up with compliance and legislative changes, there was more than enough on the Human Resources plate. This panel presentation will focus on OSHA, COBRA and work from home issues.

Panelists include Kyle Borgardt of Paylocity, Steve DiTullio of DeWitt LLP, and Brent Hemb of Hemb Insurance Group (HIG).  Join us on May 20th, 2021 from 8:00 - 9:15 a.m. by registering to attend here.

Kyle Borgardt - Senior HCM Account Executive at Paylocity, will discuss how, as we begin to emerge from the pandemic, HR Teams are being forced to help create a new normal where employees may or may not be returning to the office. We’ll dive into tactics and tools for how we can continue to grow culture and engage employees regardless of where they are working.

Steve DiTullio - Partner at DeWitt LLP, will discuss the new OSHA enforcement and regulatory era which has already emerged in the first three months of the Biden Administration, with a significant emphasis being place on COVID-19 guidance, standards and enforcement. OSHA issued COVID workplace safety guidance in late January, while a mandatory COVID Emergency Temporary Standard is anticipated to be released any day now. The latest information from OSHA will be discussed and how it will impact your workplace.

Brent Hemb - Benefits Advisor V.P. at Hemb Insurance Group, will discuss the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) which addresses the ongoing economic impact of COVID-19.  From an HR stand point the ARPA expands several optional provisions of the FFCRA and creates a new COBRA Subsidy requirement.  We will spend our time reviewing the new COBRA Subsidy requirements.

Michelle joined DeWitt in January 2011 as the Director of Marketing. She is responsible for the marketing, communication and business development efforts of the firm.

She has more than 19 years of experience in the legal marketing industry.  Michelle is a proud veteran of the United States Army Military Intelligence Corps where she served four years on active duty as an Arabic Linguist, with an emphasis in Egyptian dialect.
