Leigh is a member of DeWitt’s Family Law practice group in its Minneapolis office. She has more than 20 years of experience dealing with a range of family law issues. She advises clients throughout the Twin Cities and surrounding areas on matters including divorce, child support, custody and visitation and spousal maintenance issues. She has the information, education, and experience to provide top-tier legal representation and was recognized in 2018 as a Tubman Family Law Attorney of the Year.
She understands that frequently the emotions and complex issues involved with divorce matters are overwhelming. While navigating the legal and emotional issues, Leigh is adept at applying her extensive knowledge of family law to achieve the best possible outcome for her clients.
Child custody is often a dicey issue between parents who are contemplating a divorce or who are already divorced. Leigh works with her clients to resolve child custody and parenting time issues in a manner that serves the best interests of the child and her clients. - Parenting time modification
- Establishment and modification of child support
- Stepparent adoptions
Leigh understands the legal landscape is always changing and evolving and with this in mind, she is committed keeping her litigation skills sharp. She regularly presents at, and participates in, various continuing legal education (CLE) activities and seminars focused on family law topics. She regularly attends the annual American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers Minnesota Chapter Divorce Camp, the Annual Conference for the Minnesota Chapter of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, the Annual Conference for the International Association of Family and Conciliation Court, and presents, as well as attends, the annual Minnesota CLE Family Law Institute.

A key to successfully representing her clients, Leigh believes that compassion in action. Those three words best describe her approach to practicing law. She is dedicated to protecting the rights of those who are most vulnerable in society and volunteers her time by offering pro bono services to the victims of domestic abuse and harassment who need assistance acquiring protective or harassment orders, as well as dissolutions of marriages and establishment, or modification of, of custody, parenting time and child support. Her pro bono work is provided through the Tubman Safety Project.
