Caroline K. Ruwe

Caroline K. Ruwe represents clients in complex family law matters including divorce, custody, child support and spousal maintenance, property division, antenuptial (prenuptial) agreements, and post-decree disputes, including modifications and enforcement of court orders. Her experience spans both litigation in district court and appeals to the Minnesota Court of Appeals and Minnesota Supreme Court. Caroline builds partnerships with her clients rooted in open communication to guide them through challenging and emotional times.

Prior to joining DeWitt, Caroline practiced family law in Minneapolis and served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Christy Snow-Kaster in Family Court in the Fourth Judicial District Court of Minnesota (Hennepin County). She worked closely with Referee Snow-Kaster to draft Orders following court hearings, noting and explaining the key factors the Court considered in its decision. Caroline also practiced family law at a prominent law firm in Chicago, where she handled a variety of family law and domestic abuse matters and appeals, particularly for high net-worth clients in the Chicago area.

Caroline earned her J.D. from DePaul University College of Law in Chicago. Caroline focused her law school curriculum on family law, taking advanced family law courses to further her education in the field. This specialized knowledge helps Caroline serve clients through some of life’s most consequential legal issues. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a minor in Child Studies from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
