Shawn Govern Honored with St. Thomas More Lawyers Society Faithful Servant Award

DeWitt partner Shawn Govern was honored with the St. Thomas More Lawyers Society’s Faithful Servant Award on October 6, 2026, recognizing his outstanding service to the legal profession, his community, and others.

Throughout his career, Shawn has demonstrated a strong commitment to service and leadership. He previously served as President of the Board of Governors for the St. Thomas More Lawyers Society of Wisconsin and a long time Board Member. His community involvement also includes board service with Revitalize Milwaukee, the Wisconsin Singer Songwriters Series, and the St. John’s University Alumni Association.

That same commitment to helping others shapes Shawn’s legal practice. For more than 20 years, he has advised family-owned businesses, financial institutions, and public and private organizations on business, real estate, construction, transactional, and litigation matters. He works closely with business owners on both day-to-day legal needs and significant challenges, bringing practical judgment and a focus on achieving the most favorable outcome. His litigation experience includes cases before federal and state trial courts, as well as appellate courts.
