Schaefer is an associate litigation attorney in the firm’s Minneapolis office. His experience includes defending motions to dismiss, handling discovery disputes, conducting depositions, handling mediations and more. He is adept at conducting legal research, effectively communicating, and advising clients on their options, and assessing the strengths and weaknesses of cases.

He has extensive courtroom experience as a trial attorney, where he represented hundreds of clients while advocating on their behalf during oral arguments and various evidentiary hearings, including motions to suppress and motions to exclude testimony.

Schaefer can handle multiple cases concurrently, while remaining focused on attention to detail. He has strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills and can quickly adapt to the unpredictability that is frequently involved with litigation matters.

While in law school, Schaefer served as a Judicial Extern for the Honorable Gregory Pollack in San Diego’s Superior Court Civil Division. While there he evaluated pending motions and reviewed court files, previous pleadings, rulings, and recent motions. Schaefer also was a certified legal intern for the San Diego Public Defender’s Office where he represented indigent defendants in trial and gained courtroom experience as a student attorney.

Outside of the firm, Schaefer enjoys traveling, spending time with his family, and biking around Minneapolis and St. Paul.
